Rather pathetic this one - I have suffered depression all my life and one of the things that helps me out out of it is the Meatloaf song "Objects in the rearview mirror may appear closer than they are." Just because these things happened 10-20 years ago, why I am letting words and actions from that long ago still scar me?

In the case of the fractured wrist that was never treated, that still hurts but not because I'm holding onto it, but in the case of words, I guess I had a tragic taste in music growing up because the STEPS song "Better best forgotten" comes to mind.

Right, off to do a CD purge right now and only keep decent music!

I was told by a sports teacher at school many years ago that it doesn't matter whether you win or loose a game, as long as you work hard, always do your best and enjoy it. I think this works in most areas of life!

Another is to always treat people the way you yourself would like to be treated.

And going back to the song, always use sunscreen

"To thine own self be true". Don't put up with idiots just for the sake of peace - always stand up for what you believe in and try to do your best with the tools available.

The amount of time I've spent having to choose my words carefully to avoid committing myself to something I don't believe in is incredible but it saves time later having to eat them.

Recently I listened to song called Sunscreen by Baz Lurhman. In this song he dispenses advice on life and the choices you have.

What advice would you give to a stranger to better their life or perhaps you have a tip that could save you time in everyday life or around the house.

I was told by my Father that I should not say "I can't" when I can say "I can try"
